Puja Opens New Manhattan Center

The puja on June 4 was an auspicious occasion for a number of reasons: It marked the Turning of the Wheel of Dharma Day and Geshe Kelsang's birthday as well as the inauguration of Chakrasambara's new Manhattan center. The combination of Kadam Morten's inspirational singing and the voices of the many participants provided a warm welcome for the Buddhas, who blessed our new space. Those present were filled with happiness that the new center had manifested (just as it had been forecast!) and that the Chakrasambara sangha would flourish and grow in its new, albeit temporary, home. During a break, Kadam Morten gave us a brief history of Chakrasambara and thanked all those whose efforts have made our sangha a reality.

I was struck with the realization that the lineage of the teachers of our tradition stretches back in time to the historic Buddha, and thankful that the Dharma has new, fertile ground in which to grow in the worldÕs most dynamic city.
