Journey to the Subtle Mind

Sutra Mahamudra Meditations on the Mind

The heart practice of Kadampa Buddhism is mahamudra. The sutra presentation of mahamudra emphasizes the meditation on the clear nature of the mind. This sublime meditation is a great favorite among practitioners. It is a deeply relaxing, spacious, and profoundly illuminating meditation. Through it we gain deep insight into the flexible and limitless nature of our own mind. This is in turn helps us to understand through our own experience the validity of the Buddhist spiritual path as a method to actualize our potential for lasting happiness and freedom. In particular we learn how to heal the old wounds we carry in our mind from the past. We will also be taught the special method for accessing a more subtle level of consciousness that will greatly empower our ability to meditate as well as to maintain happy and peaceful mind in our daily life. Everyone welcome.

The Transformative Power of a Blissful Mind

Introduction to the Practice of Tantric Mahamudra

Tantra is a widely misunderstood aspect of Buddha’s teachings. Some people regard it as a method for increasing worldly pleasure but this is incorrect. The tantra presentation of mahamudra emphasizes the development of the most subtle level of consciousness known as the clear light of bliss. By accessing this naturally blissful state of mind and learning to meditate with this mind we greatly accelerate our path to enlightenment.

In this series, Kadam Morten will introduce the training in tantric mahamudra, and show how we can already begin to introduce the training in this blissful and joyful mind into our daily life in such a way as to greatly improve our spiritual practice as well as making every aspect of our life more joyful and meaningful. This is a wonderful opportunity to deepen our understanding of the wonderfully creative, imaginative and blissful path of tantra. Everyone is welcome.
