Introduction to Buddhist Meditation

Meditation is a simple yet profound method to improve the quality of our lives. Through following very simple, practical instructions we can learn to let go of the causes of our pain and dissatisfaction and to gain the inner peace and clarity we seek.

If we understand how to meditate correctly, we will have real confidence in our practice, and results will arise effortlessly.

April 21 Meditation and the Development of Happiness
April 28 No class - U.S. Spring Festival at KMC
May 5 Establishing a Meditation Practice
May 12 Empowering the Mind
May 19 Understanding the Human Condition

Learning to Let Go of Bad Habits

We all have habits we consider “bad” or unhealthy, even destructive. It would seem that we want to abandon these habits, but we continue to indulge them, as though we were trapped. Buddha’s astounding insights into the mind give us the tools to understand how and why we create compulsive patterns of behavior, and consequently how we can let go of them and create the meaningful and joyful life that we actually want.

May 1 Understanding Ourselves: Why We Develop Bad Habits
May 8 Uprooting the Psychology of Addiction
May 15 Freedom from Compulsion
May 22 Forgiving Yourself and Others
May 29 Overcoming our Self-sabotaging Tendencies

Classes are held every week unless otherwise stated, titles TBA.
